6mm for light decorative tops, 8mm for standard dining and work surfaces, 10mm to 12mm for heavy-use commercial counters and conference tables.
Protection Pads Included
Every tabletop is supplied with clear silicone bumper pads that prevent the glass from sliding and protect the surface from direct contact and vibration.

What thickness of glass is best for a dining table?
For a standard 4 to 6 person dining table, 8mm fully tempered glass is the ideal balance of strength and weight. For larger tables or tables with a center gap, we recommend 10mm. Glass below 6mm is not recommended for a dining surface as it can flex and make dishes and glasses feel unstable.
Can I get a round glass tabletop?
Yes. We cut and temper round glass tops in any diameter up to approximately 1.8m. All edges are polished. The minimum order lead time is 5 to 7 business days since edge work must be done before the tempering process and custom shapes cannot be modified after tempering.
Can existing tabletop glass be replaced without replacing the whole table?
Yes, this is one of our most common services. Bring us the dimensions of your existing top and we will fabricate an exact replacement. We can also visit the site to measure and assess.
Is glass safe on a dining table with children?
Tempered glass is significantly safer than annealed glass. If broken, it shatters into small blunt granules rather than dangerous shards. An 8mm to 10mm tempered tabletop is quite resistant to breakage from normal household impact.
