Modern jalousie windows with anti-lift security clips and lockable operating handles are significantly more secure than older designs. The clips prevent individual blades from being removed from outside. For maximum bedroom security, we pair jalousie windows with security grille screens on the exterior face.

Jalousie windows do not seal as tightly as casement or sliding windows when closed — there will be small gaps between the blades. This makes them unsuitable for rooms where air-conditioning efficiency is a priority. They are best used in rooms that rely on natural ventilation rather than mechanical cooling.

Glass blades (6mm clear or frosted) provide privacy and weather resistance while still allowing airflow when open. Aluminum blades provide better weather sealing and are used where privacy is not a concern, such as utility areas, comfort rooms, and exterior walls where ventilation is the primary function.

We use stainless steel or galvanized blade clips instead of the standard zinc die-cast clips that corrode in Philippine coastal humidity. For existing windows with corroded clips, we offer a full re-clip service — removing all blades, replacing all clips with stainless steel, and reinstalling the original blades.
